Sooner of all slower :) But I wonder - if you anyway plan to upgrade firebird on that machines, why not also change linux? For example - there was a lot of bug reports when using FB 2.5 with glibc 2.5 (I mistyped last time, we had no info about glibc 2.6, with glibc 2.5 firebird 2.5 does not work for many people).
