I have failed to get a response to the problem below from

and wondered if anyone can help.
I am trying to migrate from 1.5 to 2.5. 1.5 is linux based and the 2.5 is on a
Windows platform. I am updating a c program that writes data to a table. When
I try to run the program using the 2.5 version of the db, I get the following
error:
Your user name and password are not defined. Ask your database administrator to
set up a Firebird login.
I tried setting the environment variables ISC_USER and ISC_PASSWORD but this
didn't solve the problem.
So I then supplied a user name and password in the database connection
statement and tried to recompile. I got the following warning:
gpre: -user, -password and -charset switches require -manual
But I don't want to use the -manual option because I want to work with
automatic transactions as I did with Firebird 1.5.
Does anybody know a way around this?
