Sounds reasonable. But what should it contain for SuperServer? NULL? Another solution could be to have something like MON$CONFIGURATION at both per-database and per-attachment (when suitable) basis and have this value there. I'm not sure this is a better idea for this particular case, but it could make sense in general. And IIRC something like that has already been requested in the tracker.
