Is it not possible to extend the syntax of the comment on DDL? for example
COMMENT ON [SELECT|UPDATE|INSERT|DELETE|ALL] GRANT FOR [USER|ROLE] UPON
[TABLE|VIEW|PROCEDURE] IS ..........
The above is very clumsy but a better way would be
GRANT [RIGHT] FOR [OBJECT] TO [USER|ROLE] AS GRANT_NAME
Then COMMENT ON GRANT GRANT_NAME is .......
Also, if we are going to be maintaining the users in the database itself,
perhaps a comment upon the user.....

Sounds reasonable - do you have any idea when namespaces/schema are going
to be looked at? The use of schema and the expansion of the width of the
sql object names would benefit Firebird greatly - especially for those who
use multibyte character sets for their databases.
