I doubt we can know for sure, but their relative amount is supposedly 
very very small. So perhaps it would be acceptable to grieve them for 
the sake of the clear design.

Of course, in this case we should print the appropriate red bold warning 
in the release notes. And it might make sense to provide an upgrade 
script that "fixes" the byte order in the given table/column. Everything 
stored outside the db would remain "broken", but this is the best thing 
we can do.
