Hi,

In Bulgaria we have transliteration rules which we use to translate Cyrillic alphabet to Latin symbols. Some of these apply to Russian alphabet to.

"Щ" - sht
"Ш" - sh
"ДЖ" - dzh
"Ъ" - a
"Ч" - ch

and there is more. For example my name in bulgarian is "Дойчин Бонджев". This I transliterate to "Doychin Bondzhev". Maybe 2 step processing has to be used in this case. First transliterate to English alphabet and then use Metaphone?
