Firebird Embedded 2.5.2 upd 1 and previous 32 bits runs out of memory when
restoring backup
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Key: CORE-4096
URL: http://tracker.firebirdsql.org/browse/CORE-4096
Project: Firebird Core
Issue Type: Bug
Components: Engine
Affects Versions: 2.5.2 Update 1
Environment: Windows 7 / 8, 32 / 64 bits.
Reporter: Walter Bauchspiess
Priority: Blocker
When using the 32 bits embedded server, and the GBAK utility to restore a
database with 2.7GB (in my test), it runs out of memory returning the message:
"unable to allocate memory from operating system"
It doesn't happen on the regular 32 bit firebird (not embedded) nor with the 64
bit version (embedded or not).
The problem occurs in Windows 32 bits or 64 bits, but only with the 32 bits
embedded engine. It also occurs using IBExpert to restore with the embedded 32
bits firebird.
The issue is not the same as #CORE-3802
