I wonder - is there anyway via sql to get access to the comments other than
via the system tables?

Shouldn't there be something like a DESCRIBE statement as a corollary to
COMMENT ON?

A DESCRIBE DDL or DESCRIBE DEPENDENCIES giving a standard tool via sql for
database developers would be perfect vs having the developers needing to
parse the system tables.

I thought I saw comments about removing access to the system tables, which
means we need some standard method to perform these tasks.

Also, as SYSDBA is a standard account, which some people block via
inserting a SYSDBA role into the database, should there be a command that
turns off sysdba access and forces the users to connect via defined user
accounts?

best regards

Dalton
