Well to answer my own question: https://twitter.com/sfnet_ops "There's instability and frequent 500 errors on the SourceForge site currently. We're working on getting this fixed as soon as we can." And interestingly this e-mail arrived before those I sent an hour ago, so e-mail is/was probably affected as well.
