Only reliable way to validate encryption key is to use it in encryption, for example: encrypt something using correct key and decrypt using key to validate and compare results. Or, encrypt something with correct key and with key to validate and again compare results. Therefore, i failed to see how to "easy to forge a key that pass validation" and it would be not correct key (i.e. not the same as original key).
