Since we are talking datatypes, I wonder if some other datatypes could be
considered.

UUID - a native supported UUID type without the need for domain declaration
including support for using it in identity type columns.

TCP4 or TCP6 (32bit unsigned and 64bit unsigned values).

Currently we make due with work arounds, domains, special procedures etc.,
in much the same way we did with boolean values.   A standardized approach
would be beneficial as these are datatypes used in many databases and we
already have all the support for UUID's in the database except as a
datatype or identity type.
