What would be interesting would be using e.g. perf to identify where does the difference between kernel versions come from (assuming kernel is indeed the only different component between two tests).
I think, just the kernel. Installed and configured Firebird. Reboot. OL started with the default kernel 4.1.12. Run the OLTP test. Delete the OLTP database. Reboot. Select kernel 3.10.0 at boot menu. Run the OLTP test.
