I wasn't directly commenting on the behavior on Windows, but pointing
out that there at least exists a limited form of command history on
Windows, so if it doesn't on Linux, that might indicate a bug.
However, now you mention it, the code quoted in the ticket suggests the
existence of a persistent history, which isn't the case. So yes, the
current behaviour on Windows might be considered a bug as well.
And no, I'm not going to be goaded into commenting on the behavior of
the Windows command prompt itself.
