I also want to repeat my opinion that I think it is a bit too late in
the Firebird 4 development to include this feature now. Driver
implementers also need to have time to add support, find problems, etc.
Since we also talk about compatibility measures for old clients, new
feature is very easy to add to clients, and that the drivers are very
late on some things (protocol changes), I do not find this as a good
argument.
And if - for example when implementing this in Jaybird, I find problems
that can only be really fixed by introducing breaking changes in the SQL
support / wire protocol / data type / etc, after Firebird 4 has been
released, then it is too late to correct because that ship will have sailed.
