In attempt to fight incoming SPAM to the server, I have been updating
some settings and will continue to tweak them. Right now I am testing
the message size throttling. Also, we started using a mail archiving
service on a trial basis.
What this means to you:
- Messages right now larger than 6k will be bounced saying you are
over the limit. This should only occur if you continue to copy an
entire message in your response. I picked to reduce to 6k looking at
all the messages sent in the last week. Any messages over 6k were
because it was SPAM or someone copied an entire digest or multiple
messages in their reply.
- If your sending address is not configured properly at your ISP, your
messages will be bounced. Your ISP will need to implement to SPF
standards. You will only see this issue if you route your email
through another server and would be an advanced set up.
