Example, You get a car without a title....it was lost, or the state you bought the car in does not require a title. The car you got without a title may have been a 'salvage' and you'd never know it. because there is no title You go through these guys, they give you a legit title for the car. Totally legal. You just 'lose' the salvage title... And get a new clean one. States don't share BMV info. So there is no way to tell if the car was salvaged if checking another states database Car is too old for car fax... So there you go. Another way: If you know someone who was a legit towing company they can apply for an abandoned vehicle title for you. The title will come to you clean too. I did a car this way.
