That area was originally painted with body color and then topped with black, like what is on the firewall. I just used a piece of sandpaper and sanded through the overspray from a previous paint job to find out. The area directly underneath the cowl and the cavity that contains the wiper control arms were both painted this way. Ronnie Tadlock '67 400 coupe
