Personally, I like the resto-mods. If I were buying or building a car for an
investment, a numbers matching and original car would probably be the way to
go. If I were buying or building it as my personal toy, then a resto-mod sounds
really exciting. My car is in pieces right now, spread out all over my garage
and basement. It is a '67, 400 coupe and not a particularly rare bird so I'm
not focusing on a concourse build. I have the original motor but would like to
set it aside and drop in a crate motor since this car will be pretty much my
toy. There are several pieces of sheet metal to replace or repair and the
original tranny and shifter are long gone so it won't really be "original". It
WILL DEFINITELY have a Pontiac engine under the hood and I would like to make
some performance, suspension and interior upgrades. I am taking my time making
sure that all of the work will be tasteful and high quality so that even though
it will not be concourse or original, it will still be a desirable, unique and
valuable car. Most of all, it will be FUN!!!
