In the end what you're paying for in the Alston setup is their R&D time. I've always heard great things about what has come out of their shop. Yes, it's a couple pieces of tubing, bushings, and some tabs, but the placement of those pieces is critical to the performance of their product. Could you copy it and make it for a lot less? Of course you could. But I'd rather not guess and support a company who is doing good things for our hobby.
