Steve you sure have quite an array of parts there.
There were no 350 HOs in 1970,however in 69 they did use
the 48 heads on the 350 HO. Check the CCs to see what you have.
I believe the 350 had 65 CC chambers vs 68 on the 400s.If you
have the 350 HO ones thats one rare set. Either way they are worth
quite a bit as 400s and even TAs got those as a base head.
The intake is a toss up as it was right when model year changed.

I am getting ready to pull an engine for restore and need some advice on how
it is currently set up since it appears to be a hodge-podge of parts.

Block is 1970 casting 9799916 front stamp 0627193 WU Date casting F050
(presumably 1970 350? Any way to tell if this was originally an HO engine?)
Heads are 48 Date casting D019 (1969 350 or 400? They are listed under both
in my book.)
Intake 9794234 Date casting J308 (late 68 4 barrel or maybe 69 model year
production?)

The books I have are a little confusing, or maybe its my lack of knowledge
to interpret them. The 48 heads show as 10.5 compression ratio in one place,
72 cc in another, and a table of a 350 with 72 cc heads shows it should be
in the low 9's for compression ratio on a 350 block.

Where should this combination be for compression ratio and can you guess at
horsepower potential? I'm not planning to do anything wild with it, just
build it into a cruiser, but I want a little spunk in it.

A related question, how can I tell if the heads are set up for unleaded gas
properly?

Thanks in advance for any help,
Steve
