I have a lot of photos and specs for an original 68 shifter, send me your email address. I spent a long time looking for one including all associated parts. A rechromed handle is about 200 bucks on ebay. Peter Serio of Precision Pontiac in Columbus Ohio is probably your best source for one, and the shifter itself. The number on the handle is 5325. The problem is mainly that this shifter was a one year only model for the Camaro, and we all know how Camaro people love to spend money :-). That is why the price higher than other 60's era hurst shifters. The whole shifter assembly is 300-400 bucks depending on condition. Then there is the linkage, rods, mounting plate, etc.
In my opinion, since the shifter is going on a tremec, I would simply buy a new shifter, handle, ball, linkage, rods, and bracket from Hurst, especially if modifications are expected.
