Jim,

Sorry to muddy the waters here, but I had repros put on my 69 (both sides)
and am very happy with them. My body/paint guy did all the work, so I don't
know how hard it was to line up. It was his choice to use the repros over
the originals I had, which had some rust out. He was more concerned with
future rust coming thru the new paint. He lined them up well (even tho my
frame seems to be a little out of whack) and it looks great
http://firstgenfirebird.org/show/closeup.mv?CarID=720 . I do believe they
were a bit thinner than the originals.

I know there is a general discontent with the repros, but so far I've had
good luck.

> I see repo fenders from several vendors, all fairly low in price. Anyone
ever used them and if so how do they compare to the originals in terms of
metal thickness, fit and finish, etc? My right front fender has a couple
dings plus an antenna hole I want to get rid of and I'm wondering if it
would be about the same cost to put a new fender on it as it would to have
the old one bumped out and which would be better.
