The bottom cushion is attached with hooked brackets. You push down and back
on the front of the lower cushion to unhook it then it pulls right  out.
Then you will see two bolts at the bottom of the upper cushion which you take out, then lift the cushion upward off the brackets. It's easy once you've done
it once.
