First Generation Firebird-L Mailing List
.........................................................................
I'm getting ready to add one to mine.
A few years ago I added one to my 94 Caprice and I used a module from
a 94 Camaro. It only requires a few connections (the column was
pre-wired so I got a cruise/turn signal stalk from picknpull) but the
key one is the speed signal pulse. You can buy the signal generator
which goes in-line with the speedo cable.
I just installed a TCI lockup controller for my 2004R and it comes
with that generator so I'll be able to kill two birds (hey that's bad
pun) with one stone.
The cruise module is used in most 90's gm cars so you can go to a
junk yard and easily find one (make sure you get the mating plug).
If anyone is interested I can scan the wiring diagram and post it.
The good thing about this module is that it's self contained and does
not use vacuum to operate it.

Has anyone retrofitted their car with a cruise control system? If so did you
purchase a kit or go the junk yard route from a donor car? Any info would be
appreciated!
Just wondering what is involved in adding this to our cars, would like to
add it on my 67.
