It was a beautiful day yesterday in McDonough, Ga. where the Ban One car show was held at the Summit Racing store. It did blow up a rain about 4:00, but it didn't seem to dampen anyone's enthusiasm. I'm going to guess that there were about 70 'birds in attendance; about 10 first gens and 5 or 6 of those were ragtops! Mark Seal was there with his '68 modified daily driver, a show winner for sure and he did take home one of the top awards for 1st gen modified. Great visiting with you Mark! While it wasn't the largest car show we've done, it was by far the most interesting because every participant and most all spectators that came through were 'bird folks! I think almost everyone we spoke to had had a 1st gen in their past (and of course most regretted the decision to part with them...). What a testiment to 1st gen birds that they would instill such loyalty (maybe cult???)! Anyhow, we took home 1st place, 1st gen stock. There was truly some awesome iron there and we hope it will be the start of a great tradition.
