Last year I purchased a flywheel that was supposed to come out of a 1969 Firebird, I never really looked at it closely. In the meantime I purchased a 10" clutch-pressure plate kit. I have my original flywheel from my 67 Bird, and there is a unique difference in the two flywheels. The one that was supposed to be out of a 69 Firebird has an inset slot that is about 1/8" inch deep and is perfect for the 10" disk to set into. The 67 bird flywheel is flat like most flywheels I have seen. The thickness of the 69 at the ring gear area is slightly smaller and of course weighs a little less than the 67. Other than that they both are identical in overall size, matching bolt holes, etc. Does anyone know the difference in the applications of both flywheels Bob P Portland </HTML>
