First Generation Firebird-L Mailing List ......................................................................... I could be wrong but I don't think that the weight at the rear wheels will be that much less on a Sprint vs. a V8 car. Most of the weight difference is in the front (that's why the Sprints are a much better balanced car). Too bad that I don't live close to my friend Al any more who has corner scales to do a comaparison test (there is one guy I know in the Bay Area that has a Sprint).
You might also be careful with some of those "heavy duty" springs since I helped one fellow replace his rear springs with those on his 68 vert and his car wound up way high on the back end. Thanks Dan. I called them, and they do not show a heavy duty spring for the sprint coupe. I recall reading in the 1968 sales manual that the sprintĀ hadĀ heavy duty rated front and rear springs. Before I order them from Eaton, I was hoping for confirmation. I'm leaning toward the Heavy Duty.....BTW, do you know of any good OHC engine books?
