First Generation Firebird-L Mailing List ......................................................................... Timothy, I replaced my front E-brake cable recently, i have a few tips. After you remove the old one, but a string through the hole in the floor. Use the string to pull the cable up through the subframe and back through the hole. I had to pull the thing really hard to get it up to the pedal bracket. I used vice grips to keep it from creeping back through the hole. Don't forget to put the brake light switch lever back on the pedal, after you get the cable through it. Good luck, Bill Healy (2) 67 HO's

When I push down the parking brake pedal, the car will still roll and the current cable is at the end of its adjustment. The rest of the parking brake system is new (just replaced it this summer). I have the new front cable, just wondering if it’s as straightforward as it seems or are there some tricks to the installation or adjustment?
