It's really funny how supermarkets, parts vendors, etc. used the
excuse of their prices going up because of the high fuel costs (this
was this last summer). Has anyone seen the prices go down since fuel
is half (or less ) than what it was then?
How about petroleum based products?
My observation is that no, no one that previously had raised their
prices has lowered them to what they were (or less).

I hesitate to post this on one hand because I like to support the
mainstream vendors so they can stay in business. But sometimes the
price difference is more then my budget allows. I'm ready to buy
several wiring harness's for my 69 project and planned on using the
discount codes to cut the price a bit. The Main (biggest $$$)
harness was the Dash Harness from AmericanAutowire. I priced it
from two of the vendors and the price was the same in both
catalogs. So I figured with the current discount I'd order and save
some money. I figured the price would be going up in the next
several months so might as well buy now. I called the vendor I have
a discount code for and they have already raised the price over what
their on-line catalog showed, now it's $469 and "electric parts" are
not eligible for the discount. Hmm... have to think about it... So
now I'm back to looking at my budget...... Earlier I saw an
auction (buy it now) on Ebay for the same dash harness for
$389. Their direct price (a little cheaper to call directly
instead of going thru Ebay) for the dash was $369, which was a big
savings over the $469, and their other harnesses were about 15%
lower then the regular (before they were raised) vendor pricing. I
wound up saving $200 on all the harnesses I needed. So if you are
thinking about buying some AmericanAutowire harnesses you might want
to get them now, I suspect even the ebay guys prices will be going
up soon if the regular vendors are raising theirs. I am in no way,
no how, connected with the ebay guy. If you are interested just
look up ebay auction 400010942551 and that's the guy
(columbiaparts). Phone him directly and get a lower price. JPD
