I don't have my trim on my 68' and I took a look at it this morning. I have 11 
studs and 1 appears to be missing. The outer studs are 2 1/2" from the outer 
end of the channel. The remaining studs are spaced anywhere from 2 1/2" to 4 
3/4" apart, except for one pair that are 8 1/2" apart, which is why I think 
there is one missing. I painted my car so I can't tell if there use to be one 
there or not but I think so based on the spacing. So, my answer is 12 for a 
68'.
