dye/painting the seat backs, door pulls, and handle bits from their original
black. I remember back in the day seeing a good formula for a matching dye
mix, but can't find it when searching the archives or FAQs.
I don't have a formula, but here's what worked for me.
I put the new parchment skins on the front buckets and rear bench. I
could only find black seat backs. Apparently, all other colors had
been discontinued even though they were still listed in PY's catalog.
I took the 'bird over to the local Chevy dealer's body shop along
with the black seat backs to see if they could do anything for me.
The manager took some color photos of the seat skins and kept the
seat backs. He said to give him a call in a few days.
To make a long story short, I picked them up and they were a PERFECT
match. They've been on for about five years now and still look great.
I forget how much I paid, but I'm sure it was somewhere south of $100.
