First Generation Firebird-L Mailing List ......................................................................... Hey Sheen,
It's been a few years since I did mine and my diapram was I good shape. I recall(and memory is not that good) that GM only sold a minor repair kit for the pumps. The major with the diapram was not available and they just replaced the whole pump assembly. If you are like me and want to rebuilt every part yourself or replace with OEM your best friend for discontinued parts is the Hollander classic car interchange manual and your local auto wreckers. 15% of my car was rebuilt with parts from the wreckers. P.S. Post some links to pics of your project, I would like to check it out. Good luck Brent Block 68 350 Coupe StAlbert, Alberta,Canada http://firstgenfirebird.org/show/closeup.mv?CarID=378 ....................................................................... For those of you who have rebuilt a washer pump..... The diaphram on my washer pump is ripped into 3 pieces (see pic links below). The diagram in the manual does not show the pump has diaphram??? It simply shows the piston assy and a gasket (#8) http://www.bafb.org/1968firebird.org/illustrated/front/wiper.html The repair kit that AMES sells, PN FP695, appears to include the #8 gasket but no diaphram. Does anyone have experience rebuilding one of these? http://s97.photobucket.com/albums/l206/sheenster_2006/?action=view&curre nt=Rippeddiaphram-3pieces.jpg http://s97.photobucket.com/albums/l206/sheenster_2006/?action=view&curre nt=Rippeddiaphramstacked.jpg Thanks, Sheen ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Submissions to Firebird-L: <[email protected]> Unsubscribe from Firebird-L: <[email protected]> Help: <http://FirstGenFirebird.org/firebird/Firebird-L.html> Classifieds: <http://FirstGenFirebird.org/ubb/> Owner Pictures: <http://FirstGenFirebird.org/show/> Donations: <http://FirstGenFirebird.org/store/cart.mv?999999> FGF Merchandise: <http://FirstGenFirebird.org/store>
