The speedo cable is what holds it back most. Usually, you have to be double jointed to reach behind the pulled cluster to spin off the cable collar. I always scrape the crap out of my hand. But eventually get it out..

I need to replace my headlight switch. I have gotten underneath the dash before, but the seat was out and I was on my back, and that was just to get to the ignition switch, which you can see from underneath. Is it easier to take the gauge cluster out to get to it. Is there enough play in the wires on the cluster to unscrew and pull it forward? I need to see what type of speedo cable connection is there anyway, so I wanted to know if from experience it is easier to reach up under there or if the cluster comes out that easy.
