It has been a long time since I did mine (I also am rebuilding everything to stay original, if possible), but the picture in the manual does show the pump/diaphragm to the far left, barely visible and part of the "pump package" (#5). I found rebuilt water pumps at NAPA or somewhere (maybe junk yard) and used a good diaphragm or maybe the entire "pump package" from a donor to put with the original pump motor and transmission.
