Glenn,

I was amused to see that subject line. And happier still to be able say it was
in fact a bit premature.

I'm also happy to read that you'll soon be working on some Pontiac projects.
Nothing makes me feel more like the world is in balance as when I'm wrenching on my car (and don't have to worry that I won't have it running so that I can get to work on Monday!). It will be great to read about the progress that you make
on both cars.

Regarding the '69 TA that left that big impression. It wasn't in San Jose, where I live now. But it was in Antonito, Colorado, a small town of about 870 people in the southern part of the state. My parents have a ranch outside of town. There were 27
of us in my high school graduating class in 1976.

I had dreams of finding that car parked in a pasture or in a barn, waiting for me to rescue it. But I learned just a couple of years ago that the guy who owned the car had treated it pretty roughly, and it most likely ended up wrecked or scraped. A sad end to an iconic car. But in those days, no one knew those cars would be so highly
prized 40 years later!

Man, that looked bad. As Mark Twain once wrote, "reports of my death have been
exaggerated". Sorry guys, I was rushed when I wrote that note regarding Bob. I use the webmail
and cannot easily respond to a thread so I started a new one. I meant to write "RIP
Pontiac/Bob C San Jose" to transition (or hijack) that thread.

I've been crazy busy these last two years, first traveling for work, then
finally getting into a house. We have a real garage again, but the house will
take a few months to get it where we want it. Plus my step-sons now live with
us - one in HS, one in college.

After the basics for the house it's on to the 69 LeMans convertible - swapping
a Sprint OHC6 into it, probably adding a 5-speed and making it road-ready as a
daily driver. THEN we can start building the Firebird.

Glenn
