Larry,
You're better off using the original steering arms from your drum brake
car as there were subtle changes in the steering arm length and position
from year to year. By using your originals, you'll maintain proper steering
geometry.
Don't forget to either use the master cylinder from that Monte Carlo or get
a rebuilt one (safer bet) for a front disk brake car from your favorite auto
parts store. Just ask for one for a '69 Firebird w/front discs and
you'll be set.
You'll need the proportioning valve as well.

I got a set of discs from 70 monte carlo, going to put them on my 68
firebird. wasn't there something I have to switch side to side
when swapping
discs from an A body to our F bodies..the rear steering arm or
something?
