I was digging through old e-mails and found this one. I don't know if you
got it to work, but I just replaced my stock wheel with a grant wheel. At
first when I was putting the column back together the turn indicator was
pointing toward about 7 o'clock. After playing with it for a while I
noticed you have to push the cancelling cam section in against the spring
tention and when it is bottomed out, turn it clock wise about a sixth of a
turn to lock it in place. I then tighted up the three screws and everything
lined up.
I also had trouble with the replacement cancelling cam I ordered from
Classic Industries. The cam would work when I turned one direction, but not
the other. The cam was not quite centered in the column. I had to do some
custom fabbing to get it to work.
The Grant adaptor didn't fit well either. I had to make some shim washers
to get the spacing right between the hub adaptor and the column bearing.
After a lot more work than should be necessary, I got it together.

I've got a wood steering wheel from Grant in my Firebird and I'm having
problems to align it with the blinker cancel cam.
If I position the cancel cam correctly at 9 o'clock, the steering wheel
is way of centre.

Am I missing something here? I'm using the stock cancel cam, should I
have some aftermarket cam from Grant?
