I bought a 78 Trans Am with a 403 Olds that was swapped out but not  
completely reinstalled.  The transmission was attached to the motor that  was 
swapped.  The frame crossmember that supports the transmission at the  rear was 
unbolted and set in place but it is in a different location that  original 
and wont bolt in.  It is off by about 4 inches.  The  driveline seems too 
long now as well.  I am wondering in the motor was  mounted in wrong but It 
looks right.
 
If someone can tell me why they think this is and if I should just weld the 
 crossmeber where is now is wanting to go.
 
Any assistance would be appriciated.
