One thing about the first gen front end is there is considerable bump steer.  
This gets worse as you dial in more caster that suits modern tires because it 
rotates the effective tie rod location.  Baer used to offer adjustable tie rod 
ends to correct this.  SC&C had tall rod ends that correct this but I don't see 
it on his site at the moment.  Pozzi has considerable information about first 
gen front ends on his site

Here are recommended "modern" radial tire alignment specs for our cars with
original control arms.  I just did mine last week to these specs and the car
responds well.
