FIOS is 100 percent fiber, nothing to do with a copper hard wire
service. They are blowing smoke, your copper pair is faulty and they
won't or can't repair it and perhaps a spare pair is not available.
Tell them in 'your way' to fix it or you will need to call the state
public utilities commission, be sure to tell this to a supervisor. I
think this will get your copper service restored. Verizon and the rest
are very sensitive to this as they are required by law to maintain the
copper service while pushing the fiber show.

We are experiencing intermittent network outage by our internet
provider provided by Verizon. A technician has been dispatched but
they are indicating nothing they can do as they believe the recently
installed FIOS in my community is interfering with our DSL line. They
tell me the only way we may be able to resolve is to upgrade to FIOS
which is an additional $100 a month for a static line which is required
to run a mail server and what I already have with the DSL line.
Being a load of crap to down grade a service and require you to upgrade
to resolve the issue and charge a significant amount more, there is no
other solution even switching to another provider as they would
experience the same intermittent network outage created by the Verizon
FIOS lines. Any class actions lawsuits already pending for this?
With the mailing list one of the only reason I run a static line
already costing $60 additional a month, I may be looking for
alternatives to run the list if the network issue is not resolved.
