My wife left the lights on in the bird last week and drained the battery. We
jumped the car, started up fine, drove it home and that was that. 
 
Took the car this evening and the old hot start problem reared it's head -
this has been a complete non-issue for a year now. Had to jump the starter.
Plenty of juice. 
 
Get home, and the lights won't turn *off*?!?!?!  Go figure. This has never
happened before. Only way to shut them off was disconnect the battery. 
 
That's the background story, so here's the question:
 
 does this sound like a bad voltage regulator, and could we have fried it
when we jumped the car?
