Everything I have seen (both live and on old 400 adds) show the 400 slanting toward the front of the car. Mine were originally affixed going back towards the rear of the car (on a re-pop hood) and I had that pointed out to me a while back that they were slanted the wrong way. I took them off and switched them (left to right, right to left) and they are now slanting towards the front of the car.
That appears to be the proper way.
