Man... now I know how you & Christi feel every-other year! It was nice to clean up the car and not necessarily detail everything again on Sunday morning. 442 cars in attendance at the Nats and around 351 at Tipp City. The hotel was very elegant compared to what we have been used to. Piano in the main hall, chandeliers, very nice pool, blacktop as far as the eyes could see. It went very smooth with only a few hiccups. The layout was very different than past with the stock 1st & 2nd gens facing each other near the front entrance, and then club cars (& steve Hamilton) & winners circle facing each other next with the tech line running down the center of them. It got every body up close and personal but played heck trying to get out while cars were in the tech line. The vendors were in smaller parking areas nearby and next to the hotel which seemed to give them more exposure (better for them). Then there was a huge parking lot adjacent that had rows of the remaining classes. It seemed pretty good all-in-all, but didn't seem as personal and fun as in the past. (The rain and the newness may have played a factor in these thoughts.) as well as the expensive drinks at the tiki bar. I will post a link to some pictures in a few days. I got to spend quite a bit of time with Corky, Bob Trimpe & others just talking cars. My son got to come again this year and loved it and even got to see the new Phoenix Design Trans Am. I liked it but anxious to see it more closely. BTW I did receive 2nd place for the '68 at Tipp City and felt very good about it as I lost to Corky who received first place... I feel the need to vicariously live through others who attended the TA Nationals this past weekend. We were unable to attend as trying to entertain our new two month old daughter while cleaning and polishing would have been enough to push me over the edge. :) So, who brought home the gold this year? Don, I know you didn't since you were lounging in the Winner's Circle... How was the new venue? I need pictures!
