From: "Steve Leary" <[email protected]> Date: Thu, 3 Sep 2009 18:46:10 -0700 (PDT) I dont know what happened to the last links but the original post I did came back and said it was too long and the links were broken up so I thought I did good by removing what was put in and thought I fixed the links. Sorry about that!!!!! OK, Im answering a few questions here. About the Distributor without vacuum, theres nothing wrong with it what so ever, it may not get as good of gas milage but as far as being snappy, I believe it will be as good if not better than a vacuum advance set up. Here's a link to a few of my video's http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xuq-3a0AHEU&feature=channel_page For those that haven't seen my cameo apperance in a movie called Hustle and Fish, its actually a pretty good movie. Here's a clip on it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6dTfMAH9UL8&feature=channel Then as far as the pictures of my Hemi powered 1929 Willys Whippet here's the link. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=394435 Here's a thread that shows a few more pictures. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=231413 And here's a video of the Whippet a while ago. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uzpm5VQ1Y10&feature=channel Actually if you go to www.youtube.com/sixt8bird you can check out what i 've been up to for the last couple years I havent been on here. I built a barn, did a bunch of yard work, building a Hotrod etc. And heres something about a post from a while back about the temperature of a Pontiac engine. Everyone was saying that 195 is a normal temp. Well it was back in the day to keep your engine a bit cleaner and now they use the higher temps to keep emissions under check. But as far as performance, I have back to back tests at the track and on the rear engine dyno that shows , THECOOLER THE ENGINE THE MORE HP IS MADE. It is imprortant to keep the oil warm though. I have also read every book about Pontiacs and they all say a 160 stat will give you one tenth of a secon gain in the quarter mile. With the detergents in the oil, you will never have to worry about sludge by running cooler. I had a 350 that I sold to a guy that I personally put 230,000 miles on and the buyer didn't want the MT valve covers. When we pulled them off, the engine looked like a fresh engine with 0 miles on it. Not one speck of dirt/sludge/black. It looked like fresh raw iron!!!!. I run a 160 in all my cars and have great heat in the winter and even the car that I race (The one in the videos) never gets over 175 in 90+ degree weather sitting in a traffic jam for hours!!!! It just sits and runs cool. Not bad for a 12.5 second 400 with non ported heads that runs on pump gas. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Submissions to Firebird-L: <[email protected]> Unsubscribe from Firebird-L: <[email protected]> Help: <http://FirstGenFirebird.org/firebird/Firebird-L.html> Classifieds: <http://FirstGenFirebird.org/ubb/> Owner Pictures: <http://FirstGenFirebird.org/show/>
