I don't use the clamp on my 69.  I was always told the correct way to put on
the front hoses is to install the bottom end to the caliper and lock it in
place, then as you install the top end to the frame, since it's a hexagonal
mount, turn the hose one or two index points to the outside, instead of
putting it straight into the bracket.  This will flex the hose naturally
away from the frame and prevent any rubbing against stationary parts as your
suspension moves.

but when I looked at my car (69 with factory disks) it seems like putting
these clamps on would just create more stress on the hose.  Without the
clamps it doesn't seem like the hose is rubbing on anything or having any
other issues.  Are people with 69s using these clamps????  My brake hoses do
have the metal collar on the brake hose that would be in the right spot to
clamp these to the upper A arm.
