The throttle (or accelerator) bracket should be painted engine color--at least on GTO's, but the Bird should be the same. I have been told that the bolt and small metal piece that holds the throttle cable on the bracket were not painted because they were not installed when the engine was painted. (I believe that the throttle bracket was actually silver cadmium under the paint, but nobody will ever know.)
