You are right.  The pillar is seamed bottom up.  However, I just looked at mine 
(the top is original) and noticed that the driver's side is seamed 2 1/2" down 
from the top of the windshield trim and the passenger side is 1 1/2" down. 
Anybody else with an original top have those inconsistencies?

Also, on my top [supposed to be original] there is a plastic strip that clips 
under the lip of the rain trough and covers up the edge of the vinyl roof where 
it meets the rain trough on the passenger side. The strip on the driver's side 
is missing. Is this an original item?
