First Generation Firebird-L Mailing List
.........................................................................

I'd love a calendar too.  Been looking for something but never thought to look
on list sales.

I'm an Amsoil guy all the way too.  The only thing I can think of that would
cause the problems for Daniel would be if the engine had been run on single
viscosity oil, especially a non-detergent oil, for a long time.  Any high
detergent multi-viscosity oil, synthetic or not, will cause deposits which are
deep in the engine to loosen and entrain in the oil when this has been the
case.  There's loads of data from multiple sources that support the superior
qualities of synthetics in all types of applications.  Perhaps if the engine is
very high miles and nearing time for a rebuild it might be questionable to
switch.  But, I have a 96 Saturn with a 180 k on it a switched it at about 120
k, runs great, doesn't use a drop.  Had a 94 Geo with about 120 k also when
switched and it ran great for about 30 k until my wife murdered it one winter
night in Idaho.
