The way to get more resistance is to install a spring.  There must be some way
to get on attached.

Several years ago I replaced the non-power drums on my '67 with a Master
Power front disk brake kit.  I recall removing a return spring from the
original system and then spending several hours trying to figure out how to
reinstall the spring with the new power setup.  I eventually asked the FGF
list for help and was informed that the spring was only used with the
non-power systems and not needed on my new system.

I've been running without the spring with no problem ever since.  I have
noticed, however, that the pedal feels softer - meaning that when I apply
the brakes the pedal is lighter to the touch and requires less pressure than
what I was accustomed to.  Personally I prefer a little more resistance on
the brake pedal and am wondering if there is any way to increase it?  Any
suggestions?

BTW, conversion to front power disks is the single best modification I've
made to the car.  Money well spent!  Scott

I have a 67 that originally had power brakes. During the rebuild I replaced
the mc and booster with a new setup from master power. There are some
drawings in some of the service manuals that show a brake pedal arm return
spring. I do not recall taking one off, nor do I have one??
My question is: is this only needed for non powered brakes? The drawings are
a little vague and my brake pedal returns pretty darn good just against the
booster.
