You can probably safely set it to 40 to 60 thousands but without access to a
dyno or many logged runs at a track you may not see the difference.
I run mine at 45 thou and it runs just fine.

HI all,

I installed the Pertronix Ignitor and a flame-thrower coil this afternoon in my
'68 400. The coil instructions say that the spark plug gap can be increased in
performance applications to take advantage of the extra energy produced by the
coil, but that the original gap works best in stock applications. Has anyone
here experimented with increasing the spark gap with the Pertronix? Any
recommendations?

Thanks,
Andy
